This policy explains what we do with information about you, why we hold it, and how to make us stop. It covers this website and the enquiries that come through it. It is written to be read rather than to be complied with, so it is shorter than most and says what actually happens.

What we collect
If you send an enquiry, we collect what you put in the form: your name, your email address, a telephone number if you give one, the address or area of the building, and whatever you tell us about the roof and the work you want. If you email us instead, we hold that email and its contents.
If your enquiry becomes a job, we also hold the survey notes, the specification, the quotation, the correspondence, and the invoice. Survey notes usually include photographs of the roof and the roof space.
We do not collect payment card details through this website. We do not ask for anything about your health, beliefs, or any other special category of data, and you should not send it.
Why we hold it, and on what basis
Enquiry details are held so we can answer you and prepare a quotation. The lawful basis is that you have asked us to take steps before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
Job records are held to perform the contract, and afterwards to honour the 10-year workmanship guarantee. Being able to look up what was fitted, to what specification, on which roof, is the whole reason a long guarantee is worth anything.
Invoices and related records are held because tax law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted after twelve months. Job records are kept for the life of the guarantee plus one year, so eleven years from completion. Accounting records are kept for six years after the end of the tax year they relate to, which is the statutory minimum.
Who else sees it
The enquiry form on this website is provided and hosted by Mortaro Group, who process submissions on our behalf and pass them to us. They act on our instructions and do not use your enquiry for their own purposes.
Beyond that, the list is short. Our accountant sees invoices. Where a job needs a Building Regulations notification, the relevant details go to Building Control. Where a job needs planning or listed building consent, the application and its drawings become part of a public planning record, which is a matter of law rather than a choice we make. We do not sell data, we do not share it for marketing, and we do not pass enquiries to other trades.
Where it is held
Within the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. If that ever changes, this page changes with it before the data moves.
What you can require of us
You can ask what we hold about you and be given a copy. You can have inaccurate details corrected. You can ask for deletion, and we will do it unless we are required to keep the record for tax or need it to honour a guarantee still running on your roof, in which case we will tell you which and why. You can object to processing, and you can ask for what you gave us in a portable form.

Complaints
If you think we have handled your information badly, tell us first, because most of it is fixable in a day. If that does not settle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, which is your right regardless of whether you have raised it with us.
Changes to this policy
This page was last revised on 11 August 2026. If it changes materially we will say what changed rather than quietly reissuing it.
